Volte is designed to support voice calls on LTE network. As LTE is all IP network there was need to support the traditional voice calls over PS domain. IMS or IP Multimedia Subsystem is required to carry voice over LTE network. Network operators have to deploy IMS in order to facilitate Volte calls.
